16 February 2009 - A Song For Dave Ulliott
One of my fans has put up a video on YouTube slagging off my haircut, I'd be mad at the cheeky bugger but unfortunately it's very funny! I let him leave it up on YouTube as long as he posted my reply below (which he did). Enjoy...
I figure its ok to leave your video on YouTube as long as you put this reply underneath it .
After seeing Mr Broughton's video I asked him to send a photo of himself. Goatey, short hair and I'll bet shades on his nose - a Devilfish wannabe my girlfriend pointed out. In fact it was my girl who made me comb it down to cover my forehead but after seeing Mr Broughton's forehead I might comb it up again - its ****ing massive.
I may have the Frankenstein haircut but he's got the Frankie forehead - in fact I'm surprised IMAX haven't been in touch with Frankie Broughton. I'll bet flies have died of old age crawling across that ****ing brow. It took his mother 5 years to knit him a hat.
23 January 2009 - EPT Deauville €5,000 Main Event - Devilfish cashes for €15,500!
News just in that Devilfish finished in 23rd place in the €5,000 EPT Deauville Main Event, cashing for €15,000. It has been an incredible start to the year for Devilfish and he shows no sign of slowing down. Only hours after getting knocked out of the Main Event he has just started the €2,000 Side Event! Congrats on another great performance Dave, we look forward to this blazing hot form continuing throughout the year!
22 January 2009 - EPT Deauville €5,000 Main Event - Down to the final 50!
Ok guys and girls, yesterday was the first day of the €5,000 Main Event in Deauville. Everything went great, I had one bad beat but got lucky a couple times- including once against a great young black poker player from london who plays under the name of Martins.
I cracked his JJ with my 88 for a 16k pot. He was a class act and not only said 'well played' when I bluffed him off a pot earlier but stood up after I'd knocked him out with the eights and told me 'good luck I hope you win it.'
Anyway finished the day with 120k chip leader! I started today off badly, lost 37k on a misdeal, then played the bollocks of 'em, got up to 160k, then I played an AQ really badly and lost two coin flips and found myself on 50k. Got back a bit in the final level and ended the day on 140k, which is about average with less than 50 players left. Util tomorrow, bon voyage. Devilfish
19 January 2009 - Bonjour from Paris!
It took 2 days to get to the final table and I won the tournament on Day 3. I started the last day as chip leader but I never really found any cards and the final table lasted 6 hours.
Once I got heads up with French Roger we stopped for dinner as Roger was feeling a bit pecking and looking a bit anorexic.
The heads up only took 45 mins. I expected it to last much longer as he's a tough player, but the cards definitely favoured me, including the last hand when he found a pair of fives against my two sevens. It's been a really good week in Paris. The tournament was really well run by Bruno and Nick, his card room manager.
The things that stand out that I really liked were new style modern club, great dealers as always (I didn't see one mistake all week), the chips for the main event were good colours and very easy to see the value, and what was really cool was when we reached the final Bruno allowed us to alter the blind structure.
Sometimes tournaments take longer than expected so when you reach a final the blinds are very high and whoever is in charge refuses to alter the blind structure and it ends up a crap shoot. Fortunately Bruno put the blinds back to a fair level which is why it was a six hour final and maybe why I went on to win it as it obviously makes the game more skillful.
Other card room managers should take a lesson from this and not be afraid to alter the blind structure if it's too high by the time we reach the final.
Also the diamond bracelet I won was great and the money was even better. After a drink in the bar me, my girlfriend Jade and a very nice french couple decided to go to the Queens nightclub. We went in the front door and upon entering it was obvious most of the guys in there preferred the back door!
It was quite funny watching my girlfriend strutting to the ladies in a very sexy dress and not one guy in the club gave her a second glance, in fact I got more looks with my good looks/charm and rippling muscles.
We demolished a magnum of champagne plus some vodka and partied til 10 am. I have had 3 hours sleep which is why this blog entry isn't as funny as others... heading for deauville will be in touch soon. Mange tout, delboyfish x
18 January 2009 - Devilfish Wins the Euro Finals of Poker Main Event!
- Diamond Bracelet and €152,000 for win at the Aviation Club in Paris
Dave Ulliott defeated a world class field of over 100 players to win the Diamond Championship €5,000 Main Event at the Euro Finals of Poker. Devilfish entered the final table as chip leader and bulldozed his way to a heads up battle with Roger Hairabedian.
Starting with roughly a million chips each Devilfish steamrolled over his opponent to the point that, after 40 minutes, Hairabedian was down to 300k. The final hand came when Devilfish called down his opponents all-in with pocket 7s. Hairabedian showed 55 and Dave 'Devilfish' Ulliott took down his second ranking tournament in as many weeks continuing his barnstorming start to 2009!
Congratulations Dave from all at Devilfish Poker!

17 January 2009 - Euro Finals of Poker in Paris
- 'Diamond Championship' €5,000 Main Event - Day 2 Dinner Break
- Devilfish is Chip Leader with 14 players left.
Devilfish here at the Euro Finals of Poker in the Aviation Club, playing in Paris for the 1st time since 06!
I was fortunate enough to have Padraig Parkinson on my table so we had a good laugh, especially when I pointed out that the Ace of Diamonds had a nail mark on it, but the card room manager quickly pointed out it was on the face side and not the back so it didn't really matter.
I immediately came back with "As the card has been marked on the wrong side, and Padraig's Irish, he has to be chief suspect of marking the card! To which we all fell off our chairs laughing. In the midst of all the laughing I managed to murder my chips and get down to 6k. As we started had started with 20k, and my friend Theo was opposite with 80k+, this was not a good spot to be in.
I sat down patiently waiting for a minute and a half, like a coil spring waiting for a chance to pounce, when Lady Luck dealt me AJ. I immediately got a chub on and managed to get it in against 99 and you know what happened next. No, you're wrong! ... I actually managed to win a coin flip!
Before this table broke I managed to build my stack up to 21k which meant I was actually showing a profit. As I moved to the next table I wasn't feeling particularly lucky as I hadn't won a tournament since last week in Galway! I then sat down straight opposite two Danish destroyers with their guns pointing firmly at me. This was a good thing because I knew I had the chance to double up with these guys which I did and then some. I managed to finish the day on 76k so I'm now going back to get to the final. I'll let you know how it goes. Until then, Au Revoir!

13 January 2009 - Irish Poker Championship in Galway.
Devilfish here, I finally got my head over the line in Galway in the €750 Side Event at the Irish Poker Championship for a first prize of €33,000. It's nice to get off to a winning start in 2009 after few tournament results in 2008. If I was a racehorse I'd never have been given so many chances, I would have been shot long ago.
Sorry it's been so long, but I was tired of telling bad beat stories... [liar]... I never get tired of telling a good bad beat story, though I do hate listening to them plus they're never as bad as mine :)
Had a great time in Ireland playing with a band that would have made Mick Jagger look young - in fact it's the first time I was the youngest on the stage in a long time! But they were great musicians and even made me sound ok... well they simply turned up the music and drowned out my singing! Plus I always went on after midnight when everyone was so pissed they didn't know what was going on.
Padraig Parkinson staggered over to me and welcomed me to DUBLIN.
I managed to get up one morning and take a walk around Galway as DUBLIN was too far away. It's a very nice place but in my long dark coat and shades I looked like an extra from the movie Interview with a Vampire. A few old women crossed themselves and hurried indoors to close the shutters.
Back to the tourney... well I've always maintained that No Limit Hold'em is a form game. As long as you play reasonably well [I folded twice] and you get lucky its easy - I managed to beat my pal Alan Vincent's son's KKs with my AK and Paul Jackson's QQ with my AJ
[the day before in the main event I couldn't even beat Pardraig's AA with my AK, he sportingly offered me 2,5 % of his winnings when he won the title - I told him I'd settle for a Woolworths gift voucher up front instead].
Anyway I ended up heads-up with Surinder, who must be sick of playing me at the moment. He's very superstitious and thinks I've got the voodoo on him. I double bluffed him in a TV tourney then beat him 9 out of the 10 hands heads-up in the Poker Million, so he was like a punch drunk boxer in Galway. But he's a great player and as soon as the voodoo wears off I'll have no chance.
I was looked after great in Galway, my room was so big I could have done with another week to find out where every door led. I felt a little sorry every morning looking out the window at the tiny blue tent on the beach... I think it might have been Donnacha O'Dea, he's always careful about spending money. Well I'm off to sleep it's 5.30am and my coffin is waiting! Take care and thanks for supporting devilfishpoker.com. x

14 September 2008 - EPT Barcelona
Well there’s no good news after the 2k event except for the two guys I wanked my chips of to. I played my A game for about 7 minutes then my arse started aching on the wooden chair. I started fidgeting and looking for something better to be doing, after all it was Saturday night and the prize for winning is only €171k - who needs that?? (ME FOR STARTERS)
Anyway, we started play at 6pm and I made it to the dinner break at 7.30 with 8k of my original 10k. I met my girl Jade for dinner at the buffet which was pretty shit. The meat was so tough it wanted to fight me outside and the veg was cold so I had two desserts. Jade had nothing but her luck was in. The guy on the door had noticed she hadn't eaten anything so he gave her a buffet ticket back so she could go back the next night and eat nothing again - the meat would be even tougher then and the veg colder...
I talked Jade into rushing to the hotel next door as I thought a bit of sex might calm me down... forty minutes later I arrived at the cardroom and the tourney had started 15 minutes previously. I was so busy admiring a guy's wife's arse I fell over a chair (which got a round of clapping and screeching from the monkeys). I'd been sat down about 5 mins when I was dealt AK - I raised and got two callers. The flop came 7d 7c 8c, not too bad, one guy checks I decide to check and see if the monkey on the button bets. If he does I'll raise his arse making my hand look strong... That's what happened. He bet 800, the other guy folds and I made it 3000. He studied for about 2 seconds, finished o
ff his banana and moved all in! I folded and was deafened by these oooooooooohaaaaaaaaa monkey like sounds as he flashed me the ten of clubs. He probably had two tens or the 9 10 of clubs... I told him I’d folded two aces.
I decided to re-group and play my a game again which I did for as long as it took the dealer to deal the next hand. TWO EIGHTS, unbeatable right? It went perfectly - raise 1k under the gun, call 1k to my left (my hands have been handling chips cards and cash for over 30yrs) they shove all my chips in without waiting for my vodka-soaked brain to kick in. I'm called instantly by two queens. 'Nice hand' I say, not bothering to curse the dealer as they don't speak English anyway and the guilty look she gave me told me she knew it was her fault. As I left I noticed some kind soul had put a cushion on my chair for my boney arse. If I’d noticed that 5 minutes earlier it might have been a very different story…
London next for the WSOPE! I'll be in touch.
Love you all, adios DEVIL

12 September 2008 - EPT Barcelona
Hello fans hope you are well!
I arrived in Barcelona on Monday for my first big tournament since Vegas. I played in the €2,000 No Limit event to get warmed up for the big one but I bluffed my chips away to a guy who was that fat they had to cut him out of his hula hoop when he was a kid!
I then played the Main Event Day 1A on Wednesday (although now I wish I'd played on Day 1B instead)
After losing my chips in the €2,000 tournament I decided that I would not bluff one chip away in the Main Event. I kept to my plan but I still managed to get rid of my chips! The first hand I lost was with the 9 7 of hearts. The flop came down 4 6 7 with two hearts giving me a pair and flush draw. He bet 1k and I called. The turn brought a 5 giving me a staight draw as well and the guy bet 2.5k. I was thinking of moving in at this point but I was sure he would call me and my drawing power was nil anyway and I figured he'd probably call me with an over pair if i hit my hand. I didn't hit.
The next big hand, where I lost the rest of my chips, came with a flop of 10 8 5. I had 10 8. He had, surprise surprise, three 5's - goodnight fish.
Im playing the €2,000 on saturday - I'll let you know on Monday how it went.
Love u all DF
p.s HAVE NOT HAD A DRINK SINCE LAST SATURDAY but ill make up for it tonight - watch out Barcelona

8th July - Homeward Bound
Hi All,
The Main Event didn't last long enough to report on I'm afraid but here's a a quick update from Vegas anyway.
Everything's still going down hill and if I was one of Angelina Jolies triplets I'd be the one on the bottle!
Moved to the Bellagio today, played in the $5,000 No Limit Hold'em event. The two-seat (the player in seat number 2) who looked like a spider monkey skinny with an ugly face (I was hoping he'd walk outside and the wind would blow him over and a cat would run off with him) took me on with a 7-high flush draw. I had flopped the nuts straight... you know the rest.
Anyway I'm back on 17th July and will be online talking to all my supporters and friends.
Thanks
Devilfish x

3rd July - Ante up for Ulliott as the Main Event commences
Hi Devilfish here again,
Unfortunetly nothing seems to have gone my way at the tables so far.
My latest bad beat came in the $10,000 Omaha Championship event (WSOP Event 50) where I got a guy to put his money in on the turn with two aces when I had a full house... of course he caught an Ace on the last card.
I then played in the Omaha cash game last night where the flop came Q88. I had full house of Queens against ... four eights. I went to bed after this hand.
Later I got up and went for dinner with my girlfriend at the Paris's french restaraunt. We then went across to the Bellagio to pick some money up, then headed across to the Rio where I got a hug from my old pal Ben Affleck.
I then wandered in to the poker room where there was a $200,000 sit down No Limit Hold'em game going on. The star of the show was a property dealer from L.A. He bet $4,000 in the dark. I raised to $10,000, he now looked at his hand and called the raise.
The flop came 8 high with two hearts, I had two Jacks so I moved in for about $50,000 wich covered him. He called imediately with the nine duece of hearts, we ran the last two cards twice he made the flush both times (big supprise).
I left the table gracefully muttering somthing about monkeys and bought into the $10,000 Main Event for tomorrow. It is now 4a.m and I haven't gotten to sleep yet but just going to try again.
Will let you know how I get on over the next few days... the last two times my luck has been this bad I have done good in the Main Event so who knows.
Devilfish
P.S. I pitty the people who are flying back with me, it's about even money the wing falls off!!!
P.P.S I peeled a banana today it was empty and i bought all the tickets for the lottery and still never won. I covered all the numbers on roulette and the ball flew out the wheel and hit me in the eye, i've been runing that bad that they were considering changing the 'Ante up for Africa' tournament to the 'Ante up for Ulliott'!

20th June - The Devil, Harry Potter and the Robin Hood of Poker
Nothing good to report yet, I played 4 more tourneys and went deep in the €2,500 No Limit Hold'em Six Handed (WSOP Event 31). I finished 94th from a field of 1,012 players for $3,724 but at least I got a book off Barry Greenstein for knocking him out. My girlfriend says it’s very good. [Barry Greenstein, known as the Robin Hood of Poker, famously gives a signed copy of his book to the player who knocks him out of a tournament].
I played the €1,500 Omaha yesterday and played great until I decided to call a raise from a Harry Potter lookalike with 4567.
The flop came 679 giving me an up-and-down straight draw and two-pair. This is usually a very good hand against a raiser so I moved all-in for 30k and he called with KK99 giving him three 9s - Goodnight Fish.
I steamed straight into the Omaha cash game and, after several bad beats (including my AA10J being beat by A832), I found myself around $80,000 behind. I carried on playing and as the game got shorthanded with my aggressive play I managed to win all my money back and stagger out of the card room at 8a.m.
I arose from my coffin at 11p.m having missed another beautiful day and the 10k Omaha Hi-Lo Split tourney which I would have liked to have played.
I am trusting all my loyal fans to keep my site going whilst I’m away in Vegas as by law I am not allowed to play from America. Tomorrow is the $2,000 Pot Limit Hold’em tourney which I won in ‘97, was second in ‘98 and 3rd a few years ago so hopefully I will do well.
Love you all DEVIFISH X

June 16th
My luck has been shit and I feel like a one legged man at an arse kicking party.
I played for 12 hours in the $1,500 Omaha (Event No.19 ) when a new dealer sat down and announced to the table she’d never dealt Omaha before! There were only 6 tables left so surely they could find 6 dealers who could deal Omaha??? Anyway she miss dealt on the second hand and knocked me out.
Then I played the $5,000 Omaha with Rebuys (Event No.28). In this tournament if you were out of chips, you could take a double rebuy and I was in for $30,000 already when the dealer started shaking and closing his eyes. He’d made several mistakes so I asked if he was OK, he said no and that he had a low sugar level, so I asked a floorwoman to replace him. She decided he could deal a few more hands and ended up getting heads-up with Kings suited against Queens (unsuited).
We had about 6,000 left each when the dealer mucked the flop before turning it and then dealt another one quick hoping we hadn’t noticed!! A ruling was called and the decision was that the cards must be reshuffled and another flop dealt. On a 9 high flop we each had our 6,000 in making a 20,000 pot. Wouldn’t you know it, a Queen spiked on the turn so I had to buy another 10,000 worth of chips thanks to very bad decisions by floor staff.
To finish me off I then had my Aces cracked by Phil Hellmuth’s 3355, so I left the Rio $50k down and stepped in some dog shit outside with a 6 inch nail in it.

NEWSFLASH - Devilfish cashes in Event 19 - $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha
Congratulations to Devilfish who finished 60th out of 759 players in the $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha tournament. He takes home $3,522 for his day's work. Report to follow.

June 10th
Hello from Las Vegas!
Having a great time even if the poker has been pretty grim for me so far.
In the $5,000 Mixed Hold’em I would have been chip leader after 12 hours play if my Aces had held up against Kings – they didn’t. More of the same the following day in the $1,500 No Limit Hold’em (with rebuys) when Queens beat my Kings!
I then went deep in the €10,000 Mixed Games tournament, but after playing for 2 days I still managed to get knocked out without a cash.
After that start I decided to take a rest from tourneys and lost 50k in cash game...
Anyway next up is the $1,500 Omaha tomorrow so I’m going to watch a movie and get an early night.
Went out with (Ian) Fraser and Eddy (Hearne) on Friday night and me and my girl got pretty drunk! We then went to Eddy’s 29th birthday party on Saturday night in Pure nightclub where we met up with Mike Tyson. Only in Vegas baby!
I’ll keep you posted - Devil
